A Conversation with my Lord

Goodnight Lord,

How are you? Do you get stressed? Do you experience those low-frequency emotions? Thank you for getting us home safely and in one piece.

To be frank, I’m ready to truly live. To live abundantly. I’m ready for more.

1 Samuel is so eye-opening on so many levels. For one, it’s interesting to see the dichotomy between Johnathon & David vs. Saul. Johnathon and David trusted in your name. They understood your power and didn’t allow what they saw to let fear dissipate their trust in you. Saul, on the other hand, constantly allowed fear to lead him. Instead of considering and remembering who God is and what He has done, he focused on what he saw. He relied on his natural senses and his own knowledge. He forgot to seek you and instead concentrated on his emotions and ego. He wanted the people’s approval more than he cared about being obedient to you. He forgot that you took him from the smallest clan. He forgot that you chose him.

Lord, please don’t let me forget who you are or where you’ve brought me from. Don’t let me get too big in my own eyes. May I be like Johnathon and David. May I believe in the depths of my soul that “ nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few”( 1 Samuel 14:6). May I always know that you do your best work through the few.

Hi my daughter,

I’ve felt stress when I wrapped myself in flesh, but now I’m with my heavenly father. You are also with me, at his right hand, if you abide in me. When you abide in me, you naturally trust me because I am your life source. Without me, you can do nothing. Knowing that requires trust. Just like a toddler with their parent. You can rise above your feelings and circumstances and take your rightful place beside me. You have to trust and believe.

Believe that you have been redeemed. Believe that you are chosen. Believe that you are a co-heir. Believe that you have been approved. Believe that you have been marked by my blood. Believe.

Johnathon and David believed. They saw the same thing Saul and the Israelites saw, but their perspectives were different. Faith changes your perspective. What looks like a dismal situation becomes an opportunity to glorify your God. They took pleasure in defeating the Philistines because they wanted to glorify the father.

Take pleasure in defeating the giants in your life. Do it willingly. Like David. He ran towards the Philistine. Don’t run away from the perceived giants; run towards them. Fight, my child. In this season, I am teaching you how to fight my way. You don’t need carnal weapons; you have the power to pull down strongholds through my spirit. I can do it with a few. I can turn it all around with the snap of a finger. Trust me. I love you.
